Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars
9th-May-2006 10:20 pm
Farscape: All is right
Gilmore Girls: No surprises here really. I've really HATED what Amy and Dan have done to GG the last couple of years. Don't let the door hit ya in the ass on the way out you two.

Veronica Mars: WHOA.
9th-May-2006 09:05 pm (UTC)
Really? I felt a bit off with Gilmore Girls, not never entirely hated it with a white hot passion that I've hated changes in other shows... *ahem*... I'm glad something happened 'cause the girls were getting near unrecognizable in their passiveness. Is that even a word? Not sure how much better next season can be, but will wait and see I guess.

As for VM, didn't see it, waiting to DL it tomorrow while Lost is on.
10th-May-2006 08:44 am (UTC)
I mean, if the girls are unrecognizable? That loses the show entirely for me. And they've been opposite from what I perceived their characters to be for 4 years.

I don't know Amy and Dan's master plan. But this show used to be a dramedy, not my weekly does of depression.

I think you will like the finale of VM. But then again, I know you haven't been a big fan this year.

LOST. I haven't seen that one since before Xmas.
10th-May-2006 01:29 pm (UTC)
Well, I chalked up the unrecognizable the same way I chalk up the change in Doctor #9 and #10... people change. Sometimes it's not a healthy change, and I don't think it is with either of the girls, but it's a path. And it's a legitimate path they have to travel if their writer wants to take them there.

I had marathon of VM the last two wekends and am all caught up. I'm glad I did it that way, each seperately was just not holding my attention.

As for Lost, it's finally getting a bit more interesting and less rambly.
10th-May-2006 08:52 pm (UTC)
I get the whole...sometimes people change thing. But this isn't my best friend's family. It's a TV show! I liked the way it used to be! :)

YAY good on ya with the marathon! I told ya the baby thing had pretty much been dropped though. Eh?

I sort of plan on doing the marathon thing with Lost when it comes out on DVD. Glad to hear it improved though.
10th-May-2006 09:13 pm (UTC)
It seems like my viewing needs are a day off 'cause I wanted no part of Lost today, I just waited for VM to finish (after dwling 21 again by accident and thinking it looked rather familiar, I'm a dumb ass) and passed the time listening to SG1 commentaries.... yeah, I'm in shock now... what the!?!?

Why did I make a random remark to papa Mars to never leave 'cause he's the coolest thing evah, then *boom*, me *panic attack*s, Veronica *postal*s, Logan *angst*s... Beaver? Really? Cool exit though.

So many questions. Did Lamb go boom too? What could possibly be in the briefcase? Mr. E's head? And I hope whats-his-name gets taken away by The Others before he even ponders leaving Australia and messing up Logan/Veronica ship.
10th-May-2006 09:33 pm (UTC)
You downloaded 21 again! LMAO. How far in did it take for you to figure it out? LOL

I seeded the finale for like 2.4gb today. You probably got some of the finale from me. :)

I was having a HEART ATTACK until we found out about Papa Mars. HEART ATTACK!!! Oh. Did you enjoy the symmetry? Logan laying on Veronica's lap in ep 1 Veronica laying on Logan's lap in ep22. nice continuity.

I believe that means Lamb went boom. I figure that there's a LOT of money in that brief case. But we know that she is some how connected to the Fitzpatricks. I figure that has to have something to do with it. eh?

Mr. E's head. LMAO. With the new holes in it?
I have a feeling we might not see more of Duncan in the future. But at some point? She's gonna have to stop running to Logan JUST when Duncan is gone, and decide that Logan is the one she wants to be with first, not second.

Nice ending though. I'm so glad you brought this show with you last time. I love it.
11th-May-2006 12:11 pm (UTC)
How far? The whole thing, silly! That's the only way I coulda started watching it only to realize I've already seen it. lol

You know what's funny, I didn't put it past them to off Papa Mars. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but they are capable of anything on this show!

I kinda feel bad that Lamb went boom though, I keep catching myself when he shows up and I'm like... 'oh, he's cut... damn it!' lol

Glad you actually liked a show I suggested, go me! :)
11th-May-2006 02:13 pm (UTC)
i didn't mean how fardid you download silly. I meant how far along watching 21 did you get before you realized.

I watched the finale again, and I don't think Lamb went boom. It sounded like HE CALLED, and didn't want Mars on the plane.

Did you catch the thing that Duncan said to the Kane security guard? Duncan answers the phone: CW???
Security guard: It's a done deal.

YAY! Guess that means there's a season 3!!!
11th-May-2006 03:17 pm (UTC)
Oh, I only watched like 10 seconds when I realized I'd already seen it.

Total aside in a previous episode, but can I tell you I absolutely fell out when Dick did the 'I can't quit you' thing to Logan... I was crying from laughing so much. He is stupid enough to be amusing lately.

Do you know what CW meant? I couldn't make out what he said, but he always mumbled so I ignored it.
11th-May-2006 05:15 pm (UTC)
CW is a new network. CW will take over theWB and UPN, and programming will be combined.

Sounds like. VM is IN!!! wooohooo!!!

They announce for sure next week
11th-May-2006 05:24 pm (UTC)
Oh good geez, I'm an idiot! lol I was never one to catch on to the obvious stuff. lol

Awesome thing though, will be good to see them go on to a season 3. For all my whinging, I enjoyed season 2... as soon as Duncan went away. :)
11th-May-2006 06:02 pm (UTC)

You know what that means right? Gilmore Girls at 8pm, and Veronica Mars on at 9pm. SAME channel! how cool is that?
11th-May-2006 06:58 pm (UTC)
Oh wowz, that will be almost as good as the days of Gilmore Girls and Supernatural. I seriously need to watch the last half of Supernatural, no clue what happened!
11th-May-2006 08:52 pm (UTC)
OH YEAH. You NEED to finish watching the last half.

12th-May-2006 06:56 am (UTC)
I gotta wait for the DVDs cause I kept forgetting to record it on Thursdays so I'm waaaaay out of the loop.
12th-May-2006 08:13 am (UTC)
Seriously. I enjoyed watching it. Nothing like brain surgery or anything. But decent stories, and NICE scenery.

The last few were really very cool. And the finale? Surprising.

I'm looking forward to the dvds too
10th-May-2006 06:39 pm (UTC) - i agree
i don't want to jump in mid convo here...

but GG...whatever happened to having something almost recognizable about the two. They were a pack, a team, the daring duo that i loved to tune in and watch. Even through the "dean years" and the upsets of teen life...i never got bored of their town events, movie nights and their good old charm of having some wit and dinamic with each other. Way depressing as of late!

OK, *deep breath* i was sooooo peeved with how the season ended...and where they left off with Lorelai.

As to VM...Whoa is right! I missed out on S1 until my entire last weekend was filled with S1!(wav, i left u a question on the other posting, but you can answer here as well.) WHO showed up at her door??? Don't leave me hanging. I've only seen three S2 episodes, counting this week. I'm not going to be able to hold out until S2 comes out on DVD...i'm just going to have to bust down the doors of another VHS taping fan around here! :)
10th-May-2006 08:48 pm (UTC) - Re: i agree
Yep. That's exactly the way I feel about GG as of late. 100%

The season ender can be looked at two ways. Lorelai said that she had never loved anyone until Luke. But the relationship she has with Christopher. I don't think she knows what that relationship is. She loved the way Luke loved her, and treated her. But Chris? They just seem to click with each other. *shrugs* That's a hard one to call. I do know that when Lorelai looks upset, it digs a hole through my SOUL!!! She makes me want to cry too.

VM s2 premiere. Front door. Hmmm. I can't remember!

Just kidding. It was Logan. Beaten to a bloody pulp. :)
11th-May-2006 09:17 am (UTC) - I knew it!
Well, i suppose i can wait until August 22 for the S2 DVD set!

I knew it was Logan! It's like a soap or something, but a good one with good acting :)

I was having such a hard time watching S1 because i knew some things from watching the last few eppie's of S2...i wanted to scream at the TV...i know who killed Lilly!

Ok, i don't care about spoilers so for me it's almost maddening to want to know about Weevil....Please tell me they won't write him off the show. I loved his almost sister kind of love for Veronica throught what i've seen. He's a great character, IMHO. I so hope they are not planning to write him off the show by jail time or whatever. I don't mind all that killing off of the parents and low life drug dealer character, but weevil...come on!
11th-May-2006 10:27 pm (UTC) - Re: I knew it!
I have no idea about Weevil. I really don't. But I can't have you talking about Veronica's Dad like that. I almost died of heart failure. I would have stopped watching the show if her Dad was gone!

They dynamic between Veronica and her Dad is the best relationship on the show IMHO. And I would be devastated.

But They keep a pretty close lid on spoilers for VM. I don't even know if the new network has picked it up yet or not. They are supposed to decide next week. But I think we got a huge clue at the end of the finale. So it looks good for getting picke up again.
12th-May-2006 05:15 am (UTC) - NONONONON
NOT HER DAD...the OTHER parents that they've killed off. I guess i should have not said parents so open ended like that!

I LOVE her and her dad...i was crying when the plane exploded!

Sorry, i will be more careful next time when i explain my ramblings. :)

But it's great that the new mixed network will be (possibly) picking up Veronica Mars. I think that Charmed is (finally!)over and a couple of other WB shows...so that's good news for the good UPN shows :)
12th-May-2006 08:10 am (UTC) - Re: NONONONON
Whew! I couldn't imagine anyone who liked Veronica Mars, and didn't like her Dad.

Yeah, I think the CW will be good for both stations. combine all the good programming of both. As long as GG, VM and Supernatural are on...I'm good. LOL
12th-May-2006 08:36 am (UTC) - No worries
I love her dad, in fact i use to watch repeats of Just Shoot Me at 1am when i couldn't sleep this past summer! He was a cutie back then and he's still a cutie ;)
Ok, i have a small thing for bald guys :lol

I have yet to catch Supernatural...it's in my area of shows that i'm sure i would love, but i just do not have time to watch and keep up with that many things. When it's on DVD, i will watch and i'm sure i will love it. I tend to do weekend marathons of shows that i've missed so i can catch up on things that i did not have time for or was on at a time something eles was going on.

I took a shot at 4 VM icons (posting one in my postie thing here) but i think i need to be more of a follower to catch the correct vibe of how to create the propper icon! I've been watching SG-1 for SO many years, it's easy and flows smooth when creating. VM, i'm not sure i have the right flow just yet to get the phrasing of words yet. But i'll catch on, i hope...because that show just rocks!
I am a little nervouse about two major tv channels i love to watch going together and making everything change day's, but i'm with you. As long as they keep the ones that i love...it's all good.
